Spring Day

This illustration was a wild one! I don't know why, but I went through so many stages of hating it and then liking it and then hating it again, so I ended up changing so many things during the process.

But I guess that's an important part in the artistic journey - learning when things work and when to change them.

I got the idea for the original image one day while we were driving and to the side of the road was a small hill, with a road leading up to it, and sitting at the top of the hill was a 'kozolec' which is a traditional Slovenian building for drying hay. And it looked so picturesque, that I knew I had to paint it!
